Jane M. Braugh

Originally from Sarita, Texas, Jane M. Braugh received her B.A. in English from the University of Kentucky in 1990. She attended law school at the University of Houston, Law Center in Houston, Texas, graduating in 1994. After obtaining her juris doctorate degree, Ms. Braugh was appointed as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas in the Financial Crimes Division, and practiced in Austin, Texas from May 1995 through December 1999. While an Assistant Attorney General, Ms. Braugh co-authored the Texas County and District Attorney’s Practice Guide on Asset Seizure and Forfeiture, drafted proposed legislation and testified before Legislative committees regarding pending legislation.

Ms. Braugh then transferred her practice to Southern California in January 2000. She initially joined Belin, Rawlings & Bedal, of Brentwood, California and later associated with Artiano, Guzman & Toomey of Torrance, California. Prior to joining Sico, White, Hoelscher & Braugh, Ms. Braugh’s Southern California practice focused on a variety of complex litigation matters involving commercial and corporate disputes, environmental law, cyberlaw and entertainment law.

 

Ms. Braugh is a member of the State Bar of Texas, as well as the State Bar of California. She is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern, and Western Districts of Texas, as well as the Central District of California. She is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She is a member of the judiciary. In 2004, Ms. Braugh was elected District Court Judge of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation (CPN). The CPN is a Native American tribe headquartered in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Ms. Braugh opened the southern California office of Sico, White, Hoelscher & Braugh in March 2007. Ms. Braugh handles a variety of complex litigation matters arising in the western United States, Mexico, and throughout the State of California, including automotive and tire defect litigation, trucking negligence cases, and other catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death matters. Sico, White, Hoelscher & Braugh’s California practice also includes cases involving child safety and other consumer products, professional negligence, premises liability, aircraft litigation, workplace accidents, toxic exposures, fires and explosions, and a variety of business and commercial disputes.
